Sometimes, if I’m really lucky, one of my girls will agree to model for me. I realized the other day, that I have so few images of my own children taken with my camera. Mostly I have iPhone pics here and there. And as time slips by so quickly, I realize even more how precious life is, and how much I want to not forget. I love how a picture holds a story. So many of the stories of my youth are connected to a photograph that I can pull out and the memories of that story are so much stronger.
So this summer, I decided to ask both of my girls to do a photoshoot with me, and was beyond joyful, when my eldest daughter woke up at the crack, 3 am (she’s an early bird), to go adventuring with me to the coast for a beautiful, sunrise session. There may have been a little bribing, movie tickets, lemon bars… 😉 We took a long car ride down to Longbeach, Washington, and had the entire beach to ourselves when we arrived. It was magical, and a memory I will not forget.
