Modern Minimalist

Modern Minimalist

It’s been extra chilly in Seattle these past few days. I’ve got the fire going and am on my second cup of coffee. Who’s with me?

In the mean time, I’m super excited to share this summery shoot with ya’ll. I love taking a creative concept and bringing it to reality. This styled shoot was photographed in Hawaii at a newly built Wabi-sabi (侘寂) (a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection) inspired property in Kamuela.

Being a photographer often allows for me to act as creative director, which I love! We wanted to create a modern, white minimalist look that could be used for a bridesmaid party, grooms dinner, or a casual beach wedding. I especially loved the fish tail braid that our hair and makeup stylist Gracia created! I think we all need a Gracia in our lives! 😉

It’s always so fun to pour one’s creative self into a project, and see the outcome!  Honestly, it’s the beauty of others, brought together in collaboration that makes a shoot like this so amazing! I’m so grateful for each opportunity I have to work and create art with so many talented individuals. I think of my job and so often my favorite photo sessions turn out so brilliantly because of the incredible contribution of others.

Plus, the simplicity of design and style in this shoot are so good!
